Is Word Vomit free?

Yes. Writing, your archive, stats, and export are all free, with no trial and no paywall. If you want to help keep it running, there's an optional membership and a one-time gift on the pricing page, each with a few small perks as a thank-you.

Can anyone read what I write?

No. Entries are private by default, and privacy is enforced by row-level security in the database itself, not just in the app, so a bug in a page can't serve your writing to another account. There is no feed and no way to browse other people's journals. The only exception is an entry you deliberately choose to make public yourself.

How does the streak work?

Reach your word goal on a day and the day counts. The streak survives until a day is actually over in your timezone, so an 11:50pm finish still saves it. You can also set when your writing day starts in Settings, so night owls aren't punished for writing after midnight.

Do I have to write 750 words?

No. 750, roughly three handwritten pages, is the default goal because it tends to get you past the surface chatter, but you can change it in Settings. Days you write without reaching the goal still show up in your archive; they just don't extend the streak.

Can I write more than one entry a day?

Each day gets one entry, and you can keep adding to it all day. The constraint is deliberate: one continuous page is what makes this morning pages rather than a notes app.

Is there a password?

Only if you want one. You can sign in with a link sent to your email, with Google, or set a password the classic way. If you go the password route and forget it, the sign-in page can email you a reset link.

Who can see my streak?

Nobody, unless you opt in. Setting a username in Settings creates a public profile and puts your streak, word totals, and badges on the leaderboard. Your writing itself stays private either way.

Can I get my writing out?

Always. Settings has a one-click export of everything you've written, as Markdown or JSON. If this app disappeared tomorrow you'd still have your writing.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Danger zone. Deletion is immediate and permanent, with no recovery window: your profile, every entry, and every backup snapshot are all removed. Export first if you want to keep anything.

Is there a mobile app?

Not a native one, but the site works well in a phone browser and you can add it to your home screen. Your draft is also saved on your device as you type, so a flaky connection won't eat a paragraph.
